Global DRAM shortage persists, Micron warns it will last until 2028
On January 12, it was reported that Christopher Moore, Vice President of Micron’s Mobile and Client Business Unit, stated in an interview with Wccftech that the DRAM shortage issue is unlikely to improve before 2028, in response to the current global DRAM chip shortage and price surge.
Christopher Moore, Vice President of Micron, clearly stated that the DRAM shortage will not disappear in the short term. Therefore, suppliers, OEMs, and other links in the supply chain are in a desperate state with almost no options. Like all leading suppliers, Micron is currently focusing on wafer plant construction, DRAM process improvements, and other supply chain measures to ensure stable supply, but the “results” of these efforts will take a long time to show, so it is unlikely to improve before 2028.
